AboutManchester Global Ambassador Programme
The Global Ambassador Programme aims to support Greater Manchester’s strategy for encouraging inward investment, stimulating local pride, attracting and retaining talent, all with the aim of developing the local economy.
Global Ambassadors are well connected leaders in target sectors and international markets who promote positive national and international perceptions of Manchester and support aspirations to attract talent and investment.
Marketing Manchester facilitates the programme in service of Greater Manchester, in support of its strategic priorities to promote the city region on a national and international stage.
Selection and Recruitment
Selection and recruitment of Global Ambassadors is overseen by a steering group made up of the following organisations:
- Manchester Growth Company
- GM Chamber
- GM LEP
- Manchester Airports Group
- Greater Manchester HEIs
- Manchester Central
- Representatives from Sport and Culture
The steering group’s initial focus will be on recruiting Global Ambassadors to represent the following key sectors:
- Digital and Creative
- Life Sciences
- Advanced Manufacturing
The programme will be shaped and developed as an on-going process and we welcome enquiries and interest.
Global Ambassadors are Manchester voices, business leaders and academics who have international reach and strong global networks. They will support our work to raise the profile of the city region and attract inward investment.
We will work with each in a bespoke way to fit around their usual activity and travel, equipping them with the tools needed to promote the city region internationally. They may convey messages about Manchester in meetings and conferences, make business introductions and feature in media.
Conference Ambassador Programme
Marketing Manchester also facilitates a Conference Ambassador Programme, offering the partnerships and support necessary to inspire and enable individuals to host prestigious national and international conferences in Manchester.
